I received this NYC Liquid Lipshine in the shade Nude York City from Influenster for FREE to review and I LOVE it! It is the perfect nude gloss to be used alone or over a lipstick. It is not sticky or smelly and it is SO affordable!! Thanks NYC New York Color and Influester!

I recently received a free sample of EBOOST in a voxbox from Influester.com to review (did I mention it was totally FREE?) and I love it! Not only do they taste awesome, unlike other similar products, they actually seem to boost my energy as well. I got the acai pomegranate flavor but I have also tried the orange flavor also! They are both equally as delicious and effective!

Kiss Nail Dress

I received Kiss Nail Dress in my Holiday VoxBox from www.influenster.com for FREE to review and put them on IMMEDIATELY. (I got the designed seen in the first photo) I loved them so much. They really do last for up to 10 days and they are just SOOOOO easy! I went out that day, literally, to my local CVS and picked up a couple more designs (the bottom photo shows one of the designs I picked up and put on about 8 days later). I definately love these and can’t wait to try them out on my toes. I recommend these to everyone I talk to and LOVE THEM!! Can’t say enough about how much KISS Nail Dress ROCKS!!! =)

I must say that I had seen these at the store and I was intrigued and really wanted to know if they could really help you dry you hair faster and how the hair did not get tangled in the microfiber. I began using it IMMEDIATELY and have to say that I LOVE IT!!! I was very impressed with how well it detangled my hair all while definately helping my hair to dry faster. I like how when the microfiber gets flattened out from brushing that it takes a gentle tap on the back of the brush to fluff everything back up. It is easy to clean the hair out of as well. Which was a big concern of mine because I tend to shed quite a bit. All in all, this is a wonderful product and I now use it daily.

Dental Hygienist Moment of the Week

I was told by a 6 year old patient this week, after I was done cleaning her teeth and working on her mama, that I was ” THE BEST TOOTH BRUSHER!!!!” Made my whole week! =)

After having a chance to try out ALL of these products I must say that I was very pleased with this vox box. The fragrance mist was the only product that I gave to someone else who enjoyed the scent as it was not something I would wear. Everything is still being used or is completely used.

So I’ve decided to blog my life as a dental hygienist. I have been employed for nearly 6 months full time, but I have been licensed for over a year. I hope to add new stories atleast weekly, though I feel I may have to update a little more frequently than that. In the dental office, you never know what you’re going to get!

Some Stories I can think of that have happened before I began to blog:

In my first week as a hygienist, I had one of my very first child patients. (At this office, that is) and she was a BLAST. Not shy or scared at all. After we finished with the appointment and we decided to get to the good stuff (the goodie bag and treasure chest!!), she came up to me and thanked me and tried to hand me $.53. I just assumed she was showing me how much money she had so I said, “Wow, that’s a lot of money. Are you saving up for something special?” To which she replied, “No, it’s for you. I wanted to give you a tip for doing such an amazing job.” I didn’t want to offend her but I said I couldn’t accept her tip but that I enjoyed spending time with her and I was looking forward to seeing her again in 6 months. Her mother looked at me and said, “No, really. You have to take that tip. She has been carrying it with her to give to you for days. She was very excited about giving you a tip.” So I, of course, HAD to take the money. She was SO EXCITED that I took it. It may be the best $.53 I’ve ever earned. I still have it in a drawer in the office. =)

This story reminds me of another interaction I think is blog worthy between myself and a 5 year old patient I had a couple of months ago. He was in for his first ever dental appointment and school exam. He came back to my operatory by himself and was NOT shy. He was very talkative and I asked him if he was excited to start Kindgarten, to which he replied, “YES!” So, since he seemed to like this subject, I stuck with it. I said “What are you going to do in Kindergarten, do you know?” He just looked at me puzzled and shrugged his shoulders. So, I continued by saying, ” I bet you will get to meet all sorts of new people, that will be fun.” Still staring at me puzzled and kind of appauled, he says, “They’re not PEOPLE, they are KIDS!!” To which I said, while trying to hold back my laughter, “Well, that’s true, but kids are just smaller people right?” He laughed and said “Oh, yeah!” I don’t think I stopped smiling about his comment for the rest of the day.
